Pitch Adapters are designed for the installation of Velux Flat Roof Skylights with a roof pitch of less than 5°.

While Velux Flat Roof Skylights can be installed at 0°, both Velux and Australian Standards recommend a minimum fall to ensure long-term performance. In accordance with AS 4285:2019 – Rooflights and AS 1288:2021 – Glass in Buildings (Section 6 Overhead Glazing), skylights should be installed with a minimum pitch of 3°–5° to promote water runoff and minimise condensation build-up.

For this reason, all Velux skylights installed on roofs below 5° must be mounted on pitched flashings to achieve the required fall and ensure compliance with the relevant standards.

Skyspan Custom Skylight Flashings are manufactured to suit Tile, Corrugated, Metaldeck and Concrete Roofs. Each flashing includes a timber hob to support the Velux unit and provide a fixing point for the internal plasterboard shaft.

What roof pitches can Skyspan Velux flashings suit?

Skyspan manufactures custom flashings to suit roof pitches from 0° through to 90°, including:

- Flat roofs (0–5°) using pitch adaptors
- Low-pitch roofs (5–14°)
- Standard pitched roofs (15°+)

Where Velux minimum pitch requirements apply, Skyspan flashings are engineered to raise the skylight to the correct effective pitch, preventing water ponding, condensation issues, and warranty problems.
