The Skyspan GSAC Circular Glass Roof is a fully customised circular glass roof system, designed for architectural projects that require expansive natural light within a striking round form.

Engineered for both flat and pitched configurations, the GSAC creates dramatic circular rooflights ideal for atriums, courtyards, and central architectural features. The segmented glass layout allows large diameters to be achieved while maintaining structural performance and visual balance.

Each system is individually designed and fabricated with a precision-welded aluminium or steel frame, ensuring structural integrity, watertight performance, and seamless integration into the building structure.

The GSAC Circular Glass Roof is available in 3, 4, or 9 glass panel configurations, enabling designers to achieve larger spans while maintaining manageable glass sizes and optimal structural support.

Utilising high-performance laminated or double-glazed glass, the GSAC complies with AS1288:2021 Glass in Buildings, including Section 6 – Overhead Glazing, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance in overhead applications.

The system can also be engineered to meet AS/NZS 1170 structural design standards, allowing project-specific wind, load, and performance requirements to be achieved.

Is the GSAC available as supply only?

No. The GSAC is provided as a supply and install system only.

Due to the scale, structural integration, waterproofing detailing, and compliance requirements of flat glass roof systems, Skyspan undertakes installation to ensure the system performs as designed and certified. This approach protects structural performance, waterproofing integrity, and warranty outcomes.

How is the GSAC different from combining multiple skylights?

The GSAC is a single, integrated glass roof system, not a collection of individual skylights.

Unlike standard skylights, the GSAC is designed as a continuous glazed assembly with coordinated framing, load paths, and waterproofing strategy across the entire roof area. This allows for larger spans, cleaner architectural outcomes, and predictable performance that cannot be achieved by grouping standard skylights.

Is the GSAC designed for maintenance access or foot traffic?

The GSAC is trafficable for cleaning and maintenance purposes only, in accordance with AS1288:2021 Section 6, which requires the glass to support a 1.1 kN live load incidental to maintenance.

The GSAC is not designed for foot traffic.
If foot traffic across glass is required, a Trafficable Glass Floor (TGF) must be specified as an engineered solution.

Should I choose single glazing or double glazing?

In most cases, double glazing is strongly recommended, particularly when the skylight is installed over an internal, conditioned space.

Single-glazed glass skylights comply with AS1288:2021 for overhead glazing and are suitable for some applications. However, single glazing is prone to condensation, especially during cooler months or when there is a temperature difference between the internal and external environment.

Condensation can cause water droplets to form on the underside of the glass and drip below, which is often mistaken for a leak even though the skylight is performing correctly.

Double glazing significantly reduces the risk of condensation, improves thermal performance, and enhances occupant comfort. For this reason, Skyspan generally recommends double glazing for habitable spaces, trafficable glass floors, and any skylight installed above internal areas.

Is there a maximum size for a GSAC cirulcar glass roof system?

There is no fixed sizes for a GSAC glass roof as a system.

The overall glass roof can be designed to span very large areas, limited primarily by building structure, support conditions, and project-specific engineering.

However, there are maximum size limits for individual glass panels, based on:

- glass manufacturing constraints
- handling and transport limits
- structural performance requirements
