FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the difference between Sunpipe Blaze and the standard Sunpipe TL?

The key difference is the roof head.

- Sunpipe Blaze uses a flat glass head
- Sunpipe TL uses a polymer dome

This difference affects bushfire compliance, roof appearance, and material performance, while the daylight delivery method remains similar.

Why would I choose Sunpipe Blaze instead of Sunpipe TL?

Sunpipe Blaze is typically chosen when:

- BAL-29 bushfire compliance is required
- A flat, low-profile roof finish is preferred
- A glass roof element is specified instead of a dome

Sunpipe TL is generally selected where bushfire compliance is not a requirement and a dome roof head is acceptable.

Does Sunpipe Blaze deliver the same type of light as Sunpipe TL?

Yes. Both systems use a highly reflective flexible shaft to channel daylight into the space below.

The quality and function of the light delivered to the room are similar; the primary differences between the two systems are at roof level, not at ceiling level.

Is installation different between Sunpipe Blaze and Sunpipe TL?

Installation is broadly similar for both systems, using a flexible shaft and ceiling diffuser.

Sunpipe Blaze may be selected where additional detailing is required at roof level due to bushfire or material requirements, but it does not require constructed light shafts, just like Sunpipe TL.

When is Sunpipe Blaze the right solution?

Sunpipe Blaze is the right choice when:

- Bushfire compliance up to BAL-29 is required
- A low-profile, flat glass roof appearance is preferred
- Structural light shaft construction is undesirable
- The space is internal or remote from external walls
- A fast, cost-effective daylighting solution is needed
